I'm breaking my pattern of once a month (last-minute) posting to join Ginny's Yarn Along at Small Things today! I'm pretty excited about the Shalom cardigan I cast on for last night. It was so hard to fall asleep because I kept thinking about working on it! Happily, I have a whole free day today and will surely enjoy many moments of outdoor, unseasonably warm-weather knitting.
I'm re-reading Last Child in the Woods for our homeschool support network this evening, but I'm not sure I'm going to be ready to give it the treatmaent it deserves, especially since I know the knitting is going to be calling me today. I'll probably go to the meeting anyway because I'd love to hear what others have to say. We make every effort to be outside for a good portion of every day, all year-round, but I have noticed that our schedule this fall is making it difficult to do so on Mondays and Tuesdays. It's such a difficult balance to strike, especially as a homeschooler. There are so many great activities out there, outdoor ones even, but it is so important to have unscheduled time as well. I wonder if I will ever get the hang of it!
I love the color as well as the cardigan. I would really like to make one for myself sometime.

I don't think I ever got the hang of it until we presented our daughters with their diplomas..Ha! Ha! I would just say to enjoy every single minute of it.

Thanks for the reminder, Rebecca! I have to admit that I do forget to just enjoy the moments a lot of the time. It's a good reason to write the blog!

Thanks for stopping by, Amy. I would love to make a Shalom for myself as well, but I'm starting off by knitting this one for my daughter. I'll have to make modifications to knit one for myself and I thought it would be easier if I knew the pattern before I tried to do that!!

Haha, the Shalom did that to me too. I just forgot all other projects because that Shalom jus grew and grew and couldn't be resisted. I have another planned just for me this time but have to wait until other makes are done....

It is truly addictive! I keep telling myself one more row and then I'll go do what I need to do but then I just keep knitting. Hopefully it will be done soon so I can get started on Christmas gifts!!

Thanks, Lia. All of the Eco+ colors were so tempting but I knew my daughter would love this one best!
